  Hsinchu City Police BureauThe Hsin-chu City Police Bureau(HCCPB) located at No.1 Chung-shan Rd. Hsin-chu City was established in 1920. The city system was applied on Jan. 20, 1930 with the establishment of Hsin-chu City Police Bureau in charge of the policing. In 1946, it became a Provincially governed city with seven district offices. The Hsin-chu City Police Bureau was equipped with two precincts and one station. In 1950, the administrative districts in Taiwan were re-adjusted. The Hsin-chu City Police Bureau was equipped with Hsin-chu, Chu-dong and Hsin-pu Precincts. In 1958, the HCCPB was equipped two more precincts—Chu-pei and Heng-shan precincts.

The Provincial government City Hsin-chu Government was legally established on July 1, 1982. HCCPB was officially separated from the Hsin-chu County Police Bureau on Jan. 1, 1990. To ensure the full-scale development program of the City, as well as the creation of a healthy investment environment for technology companies, HCCPB had an employment quota of 1111 personnel to maintain public order and control traffic. At present the budget quota of personnel is 1053 owing to the government policy of personnel reduction, and the employment quota of personnel is 943.
